The Goofy Game of Golf Searching for the Answer

Today was course number 10, Butlers Woodside in Elizabeth Pa. This course is about a 40 minute drive. The course is about 6300 yards from the tips and is fairly wide open. The greens were running a 5 on the stimpmeter today and putted very smooth. There are 36 holes at Butler with the other 18 called Lakeside and we will be playing that course at a later date. The course was in good shape and the rough was not too bad. Typical of a course in the fall. I have played this course many times and find it fair. The greens although are always smooth they are never really very quick. Is this course worth the trip, No. If you live in the area its a course that is enjoyable and does not take too much out of you if you like to walk and they do allow walking on the weekend. The group played pretty well today but we all had the short game blues and that will cause your score to go up. I shot 79, Pete had 83 and Donna a 92. I 3 putted at will and was just enough off with my iron play to put myself in some impossible positions. The hot dog was just like the entire day nothing special but not bad. We had a beautiful fall day to play. I am going backwards in time as I now have all persimmons woods with steel shafts and  I must admit am loving it. I do not see much if any loss in distance and I think in the long run this going to help my game in the feedback department where those big headed monster drivers fail so miserably. I am also getting some old irons in the near future. We have not been playing as much as we would like and hence have only 10 courses so far but maybe we will get better weather in November than other years  and still get a decent number in before the cold sets in. Anyway 10 down and 80 to go.
